CLUMBER SPANIEL
These large, bulky retrievers are very skilled at flushing out birds like pheasants and partridges from dense underbrush. They were said to be developed in England at the estate of the Duke of Newcastle, and were named after Clumber Park, the Duke's estate.
For this design, I knew I had to incorporate a pheasant. I think they're just beautiful birds! I took some inspiration from images of English folk art and statues for the front harness and the rear sash.
